A collection of many antique Grimsby cheques and letters etc. from 1796.

A number of bundles of very old Grimsby cheques and letters and other paperwork have recently come to light. The oldest found, so far, is dated 1796. Many others are from the early 1800s. The condition of the paperwork is variable, from poor to good. Much research is required to understand what the collection represents. The companies mentioned include: Messrs Daubney & Babb, Grimsby Haven Company and the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway Company (Grimsby Docks).
