George Shepherd supplied 2 gallons of oil to the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway Company, Grimsby Dock. The account was settled on 30th June 1848. George Shepherd also supplied cheese and bacon and table, rock and agricultural salt. Coffee was roasted on the premises. This business was located at 11 Old Market Place. The same address as where Chambers delicatessen was located many years later. Chambers were famous for the aroma of coffee and its hanging hams and cheeses. Note: The billhead was printed by Eggleston & Leadley, Hull. Note: George Shepherd was born in Louth in c1803. He died in Grimsby in 1872.
