A photo taken by a local, professional photographer. ‘Pipe Spring’ was a petroleum tanker built in 1944 by Kaiser of Swan Island shipyard, Portland, Oregon, USA for the US Government. She was sold in 1947 and her name was changed to ‘Caltex Athens’ in 1952. Scrapped in Hong Kong in 1963. Note: It says ‘Regent Oil Company’ on the lifebuoy.
