A Victorian photograph album containing 112 portraits, the majority by Grimsby photographers c1870-c1890.

The album contains both carte de visite (CdV) and cabinet size portraits by early photographers working in both Grimsby and elsewhere. The individuals in the portraits are not named. Two are dated 1872. All the photos are in very good condition for their age. They are mounted inside windows set in beautifully decorated pages. A few family names are handwritten inside the front cover. These are; Loft, Gallanger (Gallagher?), Bannister, Wintringham and Veal. We will be working with others to try to put a few names to faces but it won’t be easy because the portraits are from so long ago.
