‘The Grimsby Almanack 1894’; Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe in ye Bull Ring, Grimsby.

From ‘The Grimsby Almanack 1894’ produced and printed by Albert Gait. From an entry in an 1890 directory: Worth Wm. antique dealer and cabinet maker, Bull Ring; res 10 Macaulay st. (His house still exists.) William Worth was born in Alconbury, Huntingdonshire (not Metheringham, Lincs.) in 1831. He died in Grimsby on 8th September 1899. William’s wife, Susannah, and daughters kept the shop going for a while after he died. Susannah died in 1925, aged 92. Note: William was a builder in Grimsby before he changed profession.
