From a negative. The name of this ship that sunk in Immingham Dock is unknown. The name of the ship in the background is SS ‘Bearwood’, a vessel belonging to Wm. France, Fenwick & Co. Ltd., London. ‘Bearwood’ was built as SS ‘Garesfield’ in 1911 by Robert Thompson & Sons, Southwick Yard, Sunderland. She was seized and used by the German Navy in WW1. After she was returned to her owners in England in 1919, she was purchased by Wm. France, Fenwick & Co. Ltd., London and renamed ‘Bearswood’. She was again sold in 1927 and renamed SS ‘Wrotham’ and sold once more in 1930 and renamed SS ‘Marie Ferdinand’ (Germany). SS ‘Marie Ferdinand’ was wrecked at Steinort in 1943.
