Hello Edward Werge was my grandfather. I was only 2 years old when he died so I have no direct memory of him, although there is a photograph of us together. My father, Ross Werge, Edward’s son, moved to London after the war so my only acquaintance with area came on brief visits to see my grandmother, Alice, who continued to live in the Grimsby Road, and her daughter, my aunt Margaret, who lived nearby. Thank you for putting this online as it has told me things about family history which I didn’t know.
